Business Mailing List
A Business Mailing List can be either Saturation or Targeted. If you want to reach all of the commercial deliveries within an area, then you can use a saturation business list. An example would be a restaurant seeking to increase its’ lunch traffic by reaching all of the businesses nearby. A targeted business list could be used by a beauty supply company that wants to reach only hair or nail salons.
Saturation business mailing lists are also available. These lists are compiled by the U S Post Office and will include every commercial address within an area. The Post Office business saturation lists are updated every 2 months but do not offer any type of industry or demographic selection. If you use this type of list you must include every commercial address with your market area, including banks, supermarkets, churches, schools, retail stores, medical facilities, offices, etc. Also with this list you get address, city, state, and zip. No business names are included with this type of list.
Targeted Business Mailing List
After you have determined the geography for your market area, by zip code, city, county or state, you can target specific business types using Standard Industrial Classification know as SIC Codes. Then you can further fine tune your list with criteria such as annual sales, number of employees, how many years in business and more. Targeted business mailing lists are updated every 6 weeks. Because companies will go out of business without warning, the deliverability of the business database is guaranteed at 85% and the average is 90.5%.
